In a significant multi-million-pound deal, Perthshire’s ATK Property Group has acquired student housing in Dundee’s Keiller Court.

Addressing the longstanding concern of limited student housing in Dundee, ATK Property Group has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Keiller Court, boasting 125 beds on Blinshall Street. The student property provides residents with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, essential appliances, round-the-clock maintenance support, inclusive utility bills, free parking, contents insurance, and an on-site team dedicated to student support.

Highlighting the vibrant academic environment in Dundee, ATK Property Group’s co-owner Richard Thom said, “It’s an exhilarating period for investment in Dundee, owing to its world-class universities.” Thom also emphasized the heightened demand for student accommodations across the UK, notably in Aberdeen and Dundee. “Both cities house esteemed universities that magnetize global students. Nevertheless, there’s a noticeable surge in domestic students choosing Scotland for higher studies,” Thom added.

A study by Savills underlined the dwindling number of private HMO flats, amplifying the need for dedicated student accommodations.

Reflecting on the importance of supporting the student accommodation sector, Steven Clark from Together, a corporate relationship firm, remarked, “The unparalleled demand witnessed last year for student housing outpaced the availability. We anticipate our financing of ATK Property Group’s Keiller Court acquisition will bridge this gap to some extent.”

In addition to their recent acquisition in Dundee, ATK Property Group has also taken over a 775-bed facility at 403 King Street in Aberdeen. The finance for these purchases was facilitated by specialist lender, Together.
