Greater Manchester has announced that it will attend UKREiiF, the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum, for the first time when it comes to Leeds next month.

The three-day event will connect over 3,500 investors, developers, public sector bodies, funders, and end-users to inward investment as Greater Manchester joins up with Liverpool City Region to deliver activities.

Greater Manchester will be supported at UKREiiF by 25 partners, including Addleshaw Goddard, Arup, Bolton Council, Bruntwood, Bury Council, Capital & Centric, Civic Engineers, Deloitte, Exterior Architecture, FEC, GMCA, HBD, Manchester City Council, MIDAS, Morgan Sindall, Oldham Council, Place North West, Property Alliance, Renaker, Rochdale Development Agency, Salford City Council, Stockport Council, Trafford Council, U&I and Wigan Council.

In a joint statement, Eamonn Boylan, Chief Executive of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Joanne Roney, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council, said: “As we recover from the pandemic, it’s important to re-establish Greater Manchester’s position as a leading place to invest and take opportunities to show the scale of development and future investment opportunities in our city-region.

“Development in Greater Manchester has maintained an incredible momentum over the last two years. There are many exciting projects taking place across the region, from new entertainment venues to innovation hubs and advances in green construction across both homes and businesses.

“Attending UKREiiF is a great opportunity to demonstrate to the rest of the UK the exciting partnerships unfolding in Greater Manchester, to showcase the incredible projects and innovations our sponsors have in the pipeline, and to give our local authorities a chance to showcase future opportunities across the city-region.”

Sheona Southern, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester, the agency charged with promoting Greater Manchester nationally and internationally as a place to visit, invest, meet, and study, and that is delivering the event on behalf of the city-region, added: “We’re delighted that Greater Manchester is attending UKREiiF with such a strong partnership that will continue to showcase the city-region as a place of choice to invest in and do business. This is the first in a series of place marketing events that Greater Manchester will attend in 2022/23, and we look forward to sharing further details with partners in due course.”

Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region will take over The Canary, a bar and social hub nested in the heart of Leeds Dock, for the duration of the event. The space will be a networking hub for both city-region’s key partners and local authorities to form valuable connections and relationships, which will be pivotal to future development and regeneration.

The Canary will also host a Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region Drinks reception on Tuesday 17 May, as well as private opportunities for networking. Meanwhile, across the event, Greater Manchester’s leading voices will join in conversations around UKREiiF’s key themes, including participation in the following programme events:
