Kier Property CTP Pall Mall Liverpool

Further details have emerged this week on a major new £200m development in Liverpool, which could create 2,400 jobs and drive further development in the city region.

Those details relate to a brand new 280-bed 13-storey high hotel development, which forms part of the Pall Mall project which is designed to extend Liverpool’s Central Business District whilst providing new landscaped green space. [emaillocker id=”71749″]

CTP – who’re speaking at our Liverpool Development Plans Event – and Kier Property are behind the plans. They secured permission back in November 2019 for the development – with outline approval granted for the hotel as well as a pair of office blocks with 400,000sq ft of office space, leisure and retail space, and a pavilion.

The first application concerning reserved matters for one of the latter three elements has now been submitted, with Kier Property Developments and CTP behind the proposals. Since November, discussions with Liverpool City Council have resulted in support for the massing, scale and general approach to design of the hotel.

Proposed is a 149,000 sq ft, 12-storey venue comprising a restaurant, bar and lounge, conference/meeting facilities, a gym and wellness area, a pedestrian bridge connecting Pall Mall to The Gardens, and capacity for 284 bedrooms.

The bridge would span across the down-ramp to the basement service area of Exchange Station and be connected at either end by a short flight of stairs. The application is set to go before Liverpool City Council’s planning committee later this year – with an application also looking to demolition an existing building next to Pall Mall also submitted.

There is scope for additional development on a neighbouring 7.5-acre site, currently used for car parking, which would form phase two of the scheme and include a car park and residential.
