Colne, Lancashire – The residents of Colne will have the opportunity to shape the future of their neighborhood as a referendum is set to be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, to decide on the adoption of the Colne Neighbourhood Plan. The plan aims to empower Pendle Borough Council in making informed decisions regarding planning applications within the Colne neighborhood area.

The question that will be posed to voters is as follows: “Do you want Pendle Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Colne to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”In order to participate in the referendum, eligible individuals must ensure their voter registration is up to date. Applications to register to vote must be submitted by midnight on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, to the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Market Street, Nelson, Lancashire BB9 7LG.
