Rochdale development agency funding

The Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) have been working tirelessly to drive economic growth across the region – and this hard work has seen the region receive a £370m investment boost.

Triggered by the RDA the Rochdale Borough Council securing more than £40m of public funding through successful funding bids, the money will go towards unlocking key projects across the region acting as a catalyst for wider growth. The Council’s Chief Executive Steve Rumbelow will be speaking at the Greater Manchester Economic Growth & Development Conference to discuss their ambitious plans. [emaillocker id=”71749″]

Councillor John Blundell, Cabinet Member for Regeneration at the Council, said: “Although the £40m figure is significant it’s the scale of the additional investment that this funding will leverage which will ensure Rochdale thrives in the future. We’ve secured funding which unlocks six key projects across the borough with a total investment value of £370m.”

The investment will see the delivery of:

  • 1,280 new homes
  • 2m sq ft of commercial floor space
  • 3,200 new jobs created within the next three years
  • New link road to the M62 – unlocking land for industrial and residential development
