At the inaugural UKREiiF event in Leeds between 17-19 May 2022, the project will be showcased to domestic and international investors, developers and potential occupiers.

The London Borough’s of Lambeth and Southwark, King’s Health Partners and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation are set to put the SC1 Life Science and Innovation District on the global map – by showcasing the scheme to both domestic and international businesses.

Building on the success of King’s Health Partners’ Academic Health Science Centre, SC1 is set to become a global quarter of high impact healthcare innovation. SC1 will connect a thriving community with a range of new opportunities created through the co-location of healthcare, research and development in addition to a mix of both global businesses and start-ups. The right buildings in the right place are vital to this vision. UKREiiF will allow the key stakeholders behind the ambition to meet organisations who are keen to invest, develop and grow within SC1.

SC1 Co-Chair, Professor Sir Robert Lechler, says: “As the home of world-leading academic and clinical research institutions, we have a track record of inspiring collaboration, connection and challenge in nurturing the minds of the future. We’re excited to be coming to UKREiiF to showcase how we’re accelerating growth of a global district of high impact healthcare innovation in south central London.”

Andrew Travers, Chief Executive at Lambeth Council says, “Within SC1 there are ambitious plans underway that will create significant new spaces for health and life sciences. This in turn will deliver new employment opportunities at every level, develop innovation that meets local needs, and build a globally recognised home for life sciences. We’re seeking collaborators to help achieve this vision.”

Amanda Griffiths, Director at UKREiiF, said: “SC1 is one of the UK’s flagship projects – one which will drive prosperity and economic growth in South London. It has been designed to build on the existing strengths of the life sciences economy and I truly believe this will be a game-changer for the sector within the Capital. UKREiiF is all about facilitating – and we’re looking forward to connecting the SC1 collaborative partnership to organisations who want to be part of this success story.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
