Scape Group have announced two frameworks which are open to bidding – worth a total of £2.1bn. The frameworks, for civils infrastructure work, are made up of around £1.6bn of infrastructure work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and another £500m for infrastructure work in Scotland.

Frameworks are a major part of the construction and property industry, and it will be the focus of our May one-day conference – the Construction Frameworks Conference in association with Scape Procure.

Scape expects six contractors to be awarded placed on the framework for public sector bodies, and that work could include design and build, new construction and repair and maintenance works. It said that it expects work to be called off up to a value of £100m for individual projects, although this upper limit could potentially be exceeded. Any prospective bidders must have a minimum turnover of £500m to apply, but applications from joint ventures (JVs) will be considered.

Tenders will be judged on a weighting of 50% quality, 40% price and 10% on interviews. The deadline for submitting requests to participate is 30th March with invitations to tender due to be sent out in June. Scape expects to confirm the winning bidders in the latter stages of this year.
