The newly announce details highlight the potential for 199 apartments over 23-storeys (down from an initial 223 apartments over 25-storeys). The building will have a central ‘core’ building of 23-storeys which will be sandwiched between two lower towers – one 13-storeys in height with the other 7-storeys in height. In addition there would be 10 car parking spaces.

Kristi Roger, Development Director at MDL Developments Ltd who’ll be speaking at our upcoming South Coast Developments Webinar, said: “The development will result in a significant number of construction jobs and employment. Southampton is in the midst of a housing crisis, and central government is encouraging construction work – our economy needs housing, jobs and employment in order to return to good health in due course.”

“In addition to reducing the scale of the building we’ve worked with Southampton City Council and all interested long leasehold tenants on a masterplan for the core commercial estate. This is work in progress which will continue to be developed in parallel with the Council’s emerging Local Plan.”
