Bidding has been launched for a construction framework covering projects in the South and worth £5.2bn in value. The Southern Construction Framework (SCF), launched by Hampshire County Council, will begin in April 2019 and run for a total of four years. It’ll be split into three regional lots with the aim of appointing ten firms.

SCF will be part of our Construction Frameworks Conference in May – where we’ll be joined by Keith Heard, Frameworks Manager for Southern Construction Framework and Chair of the National Association of Construction Frameworks. Keith will be part of the ‘Future of Construction Frameworks’ Session at the one-day event.

The three regional lots are set to be split into three:

  • South-West – Value up to £1.5bn
  • South-East – Value up to £1.75bn
  • London – Value up to £2bn

The framework will deliver projects for around 150 public sector clients across the regions listed above, with London and the South-East looking for up to eight contractors, and the South-West seeking to appoint 10 firms. The framework will cover individual schemes worth more than £2m, with the typical projects set to include schools, colleges, fire and police stations, as well as access roads, car parks and retaining structures.

The framework will replace the current £800m one in place – which has been running for the past four years. Eleven contractors make up the current list including: Balfour Beatty, Bam, Bouygues, Galliford Try, ISG, Kier, Mace, Midas, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Willmott Dixon. Tenders for the new framework will close at the start of October this year, with the successful contractors being picked in January of next year.

Join us, Southern Construction Framework and more at the Construction Framework Conference this May.
