Swindon Council

Swindon Borough Council has met with a number of developers and investors to help shape the town’s regeneration plan for the town centre.

The local authority – who’ll be speaking at our upcoming Thames Valley Economic Growth & Development Conference – recently revealed plans for a new £80m cultural quarter at Kimmerfields which has left councillors looking to revisit the town masterplan.

The Council therefore set up a number of workshops bringing together the landowners and potential investors to revise the town centre vision – with firms attending including: [emaillocker id=”71749″]

A local Councillor commented: “From this first meeting it’s clear that we’ve a genuine match-making role to play in identifying opportunities to unlock sites to breathe new life into the existing town centre. This can deliver a range of housing options and a focused retail and leisure offer which will sit happily alongside the new employment opportunities and potentially new education provision at the heart of our town.”

Swindon Borough Council will highlight their progress and plans at our event and you can register here: https://www.built-environment-networking.com/event/thames-valley-economic-growth-development-conference/
