Torbay Council have announced their partnership with the UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), which is set to take place between 16-18 May, in Leeds.

Unitary local authority, Torbay Council have confirmed their exhibition space at the event next year, where they will showcase their place to over 6,000 delegates, including, investors, developers, occupiers, and other local authorities.

The council hosted an exclusive roundtable event in November 2022, where Councillor Steve Darling, Leader of Torbay Council and Alan Denby, Torbay Council’s Divisional Director of Economy, Environment & Infrastructure shared ‘The Torbay Regeneration Proposition’ – their new urban masterplan – shortly followed by high-level discussions surrounding Torbay’s investment opportunities.

Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder at UKREiiF, said: “We are proud to announce Torbay’s involvement with the second annual UKREiiF event.”

“UKREiiF will give Torbay the opportunity to project their discussions about their new urban masterplan and promote the Torbay Story to attendees – whilst also having ample time to network and build relationships over the course of the three days.”

Councillor Steve Darling, Leader of Torbay Council said “Many people know Torbay as the English Riviera, a place to come on holiday, and enjoy our 22 miles of coastline, but we are so much more than that. Torbay is aspiring to offer a premier marine and natural environment that provides not only a great place to live but to work and invest in as well.

“We are already delivering a number of schemes that are benefiting those living in Torbay and who have chosen us as a base, but we are keen to continue that momentum. We have opportunities for further investment and regeneration in our three towns which will support those that are already boosting the local economy and providing much needed, long term, year-round, skilled jobs for our local population.

Councillor Darren Cowell, Deputy Leader of Torbay Council said “We are really looking forward to exhibiting at next year’s UKREiiF event. It will allow us to showcase our development opportunities to an audience of UK and international investors and support Torbay in taking the next steps and continuing to regenerate Torbay. It is well known that central government are squeezing local authority spending and so it is important that we make our own luck and reach out to private sector investors who are keen to see their investment have positive social outcomes as well as making a return for them.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 16-18 May 2023. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
