Unite Students- one of the nation’s largest provides of purpose-built student accomodaton have revealed their plans to redevelop the site of a Jaguar showroom at Derby Road, with a new 690-bed student accommodation.

Originally the site of the development was unknown due to confidentiality, but it has since gone public

Unite will be showcasing their plans at our upcoming Education Property & Development Conference

Jaguar will be vacating the site in November, and moving to a new base on Enterpise Way.

Plans for the accommodation comes as development continues across the city on a number of student developments. This includes the 353-bed development on Talbot Street, the skeleton of which is now taking shape.

Nick Hayes, Unite group property director, said: “This latest acquisition reflects our strategy of aligning our business with mid and high tariff universities in cities where there is strong demand for affordable, high-quality student accommodation.”
