This webinar will focus on the development activity aided by the Oxford Cambridge ARC project as a once in a generation opportunity for growth takes place.

We’ll be addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months, but speakers will also be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

Speakers for this event include:

  • MK:U – Milton Keynes currently lacks its own dedicated university, being the largest city in the UK without one. MK:U, being developed in conjunction with Cranfield University is set to change that and bring the economic benefits of a resident student population to the city. Lynette will share details of the project which will utilise 1.7 million sq ft of space and employ 1,800 staff once complete.
  • Oxford to Cambridge Arc Leaders Group – The Arc leaders group aims to bring together the local authorities, LEPs, universities and businesses with a shared vision to drive investment, regeneration and inclusive growth. Bev will share the work the group is doing to ensure the region emerges from the Covid-19 crisis in as strong a position as possible.
  • Thrive Homes – Manage 5,000 affordable homes worth over £1 billion across the region, and are working to deliver 500 new homes over the next three years. Jack will share exclusive details of an unannounced development near the new East West Rail station in Winslow which will total over 100 homes when complete.
  • MEPC Silverstone Park – MEPC are developing nine new units providing 140,000 sq ft of industrial space within the Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone. A new spine road will be constructed and they have planning permission for a further 120,000 sq ft development to provide space for companies to make the Silverstone technology cluster their home
