The University of Liverpool are planning a major investment and development programme – with a £1bn estate plan having recently been announced.

The higher education institution, set to share details of the masterplan at an event in Liverpool on the 27th June, is set to be unveiled for public consultation shortly – with a masterplan having been developed.

The proposed plans include several projects already announced over the past few months including the £8m Digital Innovation Facility and the £22m Arts and Humanties Centre, but there are now further schemes proposed including brand new developments and several redevelopment projects to improve the current facilities for staff and students. A new central green on the Liverpool campus is also proposed alongside the creation of three multi-storey car parks replacing currently depleted one level sites.

The Liverpool campus wont be the only areas seeing mass development – there are also big plans for the University’s Cheshire campus – based at Leahurst. Big plans are set to be shared for expanded research facilities, developments for equine care and more.

Professor Dame Janet Beer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, said: “While our estate already boasts some world-class facilities and wonderful spaces, we need continued investment to best support our ambitious future plans. This Masterplan provides an exciting, clear and coherent vision for our university campuses and includes significant investment which will have a number of positive regional impacts, not least on the economy.”
