Future Development Plans – Bexley; Sponsored by Arcadis

Friday, 4th September 2020 1330hrs – 1530hrs

This webinar will focus on the development activity in the London Borough of Bexley.

Bexley is a key borough in the Thames Estuary 2050 Vision and it’s undergoing a vast transformation. The borough isn’t just a commuter area to feed into the City of London anymore, and it’s impressive regeneration vision and pipeline of projects will continue to see new job opportunities grow across the region.

In this webinar some of the key and influential decision makers in the future of Bexley will share short presentations on their future projects, whilst answering questions in our audience led Q&A.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Bexley Council – Teresa is renowned for leading positive, proactive campaigns encouraging development in Bexley and her latest plan is to get a greenlight for Crossrail to be extended from Abbeywood to Kent which will unlock development potential in the borough. In this session Teresa will talk about the strategic importance of the region to Greater London as well as future development aspirations for the Borough.
  • Orbit Homes – are a major player in residential development across the South East and in particular are working to phase the deliver of Erith Park a £95m redevelopment of Arthur Street alongside Wates Residential. Caroline will be on hand to talk about how their partnership with Bexley Council could lead to further projects in the Borough and also discuss what else they are up to across London.
  • Peabody – are overseeing one of the most exciting regeneration schemes in the South East with the £8bn Thamesmead Regeneration project. The 101 hectare site covers 2.5km of river frontage and aside from thousands of new homes, will revitalise the town centre that it surrounds. On this session John will divulge all the important details of the development and the final vision for Thamesmead.
  • Arcadis – Peter is accountable for key activity across the UK’s leading cities and in the capital whilst also leading on placemaking and on this session he’ll be hosting the discussion, engaging the audience and sharing his experiences and knowledge too.
  • BexleyCo – wholly owned by the London Borough of Bexley the firm has been set up to deliver quality private and affordable housing across the Capital. They have ambitions to invest and deliver 1,200 homes over the next 10 years – initially bringing forward five sites, and we’ll be hearing about the progress of these, and their potential future land acquisitions which will help them achieve their targets.
