Essex is undergoing a large amount of development as it continues to become an attractive alternative to London, both to live and work. With a strong collaborative approach amongst local and regional authorities the area is set up nicely to see a major transformation through regeneration and development.

• Harlow Council – are collaborating with Essex County Council, Homes England and Places for People to bring forward a £50 million Town Centre Investment Fund to help drive the regeneration of Harlow Town Centre, in addition to other game-changing schemes including Harlow Gilston Garden Town which has been identified for 10,000 new homes. We’ll get an update on these and many other plans for the region.

• L&Q – are one of the South’s leading developers and Essex continues to be a big focus, with one of their highlight schemes being the 10,000 home Barking Riverside development – which includes fresh infrastructure, commercial and leisure facilities, new schools and more. This is just one of a number of projects in the region, and with the firm recently securing nine further development sites with the potential for 11,000 homes their expansion and growth looks set to continue.

• VINCI UK Developments – the firm are bringing forward numerous large-scale developments including a new commercial development creating a 25-acre park providing 600,000 sq ft of space, creating 2,500 new jobs in the life sciences, ICT and advanced manufacturing sectors. Richard will explore their projects and plans, discussing future phases and opportunities.

• South East LEP – As SELEP’s initial 5 year growth deal worth £579m of investment comes to a close in 2021, the LEP are in the midst of planning the next tranche of investment and as part of this event, Adam will talk about the work he is leading to support regeneration across Essex, the county’s role in the wider Thames Estuary vision and its blossoming relationship with their neighbours in Hertfordshire.
