Avant Homes acquire £36m development site Posted on: January 17th, 2019 Major housebuilder Avant Homes have purchased a large proportion of land at Chesterfield’s £340m Waterside development site as they continue their growth plans. Avant, who recently announced their ambition to become a £1bn turnover business by 2023, instantly submitted an application to Chesterfield Borough Council for reserved matters planning approval following the £36m acquisition with the view of building almost 200 new homes. Avant Homes, who’re set to speak at our Leeds & Yorkshire Development Plans Conference in March, will now work in conjunction with the Bolsterstone Group, Arnold Laver Group and Chesterfield Borough Council who’re all working to transform the Waterside Quarter into a thriving new community. Avant’s plans include the creation of 177 new homes, which will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses – and they hope to be on site by the summer of 2019. Avant Homes Central’s Managing Director – Stuart Rowlands – said: “Chesterfield Waterside is a high profile regeneration project and forms an integral part of the housing delivery strategy for the town. Avant Homes Central are proud to be at the forefront of these plans with our striking and contemporary proposals for a new community. This is a fantastic opportunity for Avant Homes to demonstrate our good, better and different approach to urban regeneration.” It’s another move for Avant Homes towards their ambitious of becoming a £1bn turnover business by 2023 – which will see them take on an additional 600 member of staff over the next 4 years. Their desire to build 4,000 new homes per annum has seen them invest heavily into the East Midlands, Yorkshire, North East and Scotland in recent months – and they’ll share some of their plans at the Leeds and Yorkshire Development Plans Conference in March.
