First Base Submits Application For £175m Scheme

Developer First Base has submitted plans to Bristol City Council for a new £175m project – their first entry into the regional marketplace.

The Soapworks development is set to transform a historically important asset in the area. The site centres around the restoration of the Grade II-listed Victorian former base of soap and candle firm Christopher Thomas & Brothers, which has more recently served as a homeware showroom for city department store Gardiner Haskins.

Woods Bagot are the architect and their design worked up alongside First Base “sensitively restores” the Soapworks building and new builds will “positively contribute to the surroundings.” [/emaillocker]
