This webinar will delve into the potential development, regeneration and investment opportunities which are emerging across Cornwall.

There are significant plans in the county to drive economic growth over the coming years such as the recently announced regeneration for the city centre of Truro, the Langarth Garden Village which is set to bring 2,700 homes and a new sports stadium to the region, digital hubs in the pipeline to create more skilled jobs and exciting space launch plans from Cornwall Airport Newquay.

• Cornwall Council – plans have been revealed for a major £170million development in Truro city centre including new homes, a university campus and leisure facilities. As well as about 300 new homes being built on the Pydar site there are plans for student accommodation. The plans also include new shops, bars and restaurants, leisure facilities and a hotel totalling 17,000sq m of employment space. Phil will reveal more intel on this scheme as well as updating on the progress of the Langarth Garden Village.

• Constructive Coaching – With the accelerating generational shift towards collaboration and best behaviours from people in the built environment, Paul is a credible known contributor to the movement. He will share insights from his work with industry award winning organisations, projects and programmes; as a 1-1 Performance Coach and as a Team Coach. Over the last year, industry people  have raised their bar and enhanced our reputation for coming together and achieving some ‘impossible’ tasks.  There is a lot to be learnt (or remined of) for Cornwall’s development ambition from what has occurred nationally  and we will examine some of the key ingredients of success.

• Eden Project International – David is Chief Executive for Eden Project International Ltd. which aims to have an Eden Project on every habited continent by 2025.  David leads Eden Project International, as well as UK commercial and consultancy developments, including projects in Qingdao, China (scheduled to open in 2020), Anglesea (Australia), USA, Holland, Tiverton and the Middle East. David will be discussing future projects for the site in Cornwall to attract more visitors and investment into the county, with the Eden Project having already generated £2.2bn for the local economy helping to regenerate the region.

• Stantec – Sally will join the session to discuss Stantec’s work with South West Water and where they have collaborated on regional development and issues related to development in Cornwall and the wider South West. Sally is also involved with the Institution of Civil Engineers and the South West infrastructure Partnership and she will discuss her collaboration with these organisations.
