WEBINAR: Future Development Plans – Edinburgh

Thursday, 23rd April 2020 1400hrs – 1500hrs

Online Webinar,

Over the coming months we’ll be hosting a series of webinars – helping to keep the industry moving and talking during a period of uncertainty, enabling people to talk and build relationships whilst helping to maintain industry confidence and demonstrating thought leadership.

This webinar will focus on the development activity in Edinburgh and the wider city region, whilst also addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months. Speakers will be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

This event will run in a similar manner to all of our physical events – with short presentations from several key speakers and opportunities for live Q&A and interaction.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Artisan Real Estate – the firm are behind the £240m New Waverley masterplan; a transformational scheme covering 7.5-acres of prime city centre land. They’ll be sharing the latest on this and future projects across the city region as Edinburgh continues to be a focus.
  • Qmile Group – the firm’s latest scheme is a £350m project in Edinburgh’s Haymarket which includes a 360-bed four-star hotel and a new hotel/leisure school and training centre. We’ll be hearing all of the details during this webinar.
  • Scottish Government – Kat has been driving inward investment into the country, and she’ll be revealing some of those discussions, revealing opportunities and sharing intel on the investor marketplace in Scotland.
  • Scottish Enterprise – the organisation is working heavily on the £750m expansion of Edinburgh’s Health Innovation District and they’ll talk about the BioQuarter – which could provide 9,000 new jobs and a 20,000 person community when all completed.
  • Edinburgh City Council – Nicola Harvey Head of Customer and Digital Services at Edinburgh Council joins us to talk about the City of Edinburgh and to provide an overview of their strategic plans and vision in the context of development, regeneration and also green infrastructure. As the lead on digital services Nicola is also able to explain what the City is doing to enable it’s residents to continue communicating and functioning during these difficult times.
