Martin Perry; Director of Retail Property Development; HendersonM

Martin joined Henderson in 2006 as a development manager from a mixed career in architecture, masterplanning and development. He has lectured and taught at the Joint Centre of Urban Design in Oxford and worked on a number of significant developments both in the UK and internationally, which range from town and city centre masterplans, covered shopping and leisure centres and strategic town planning.

His career started with working within historic environments at Paternoster Square in London and a small shopping centre in Cirencester.  Following a spell teaching at Oxford he worked in the Middle East where he developed two shopping centres and a town centre masterplan. He returned to the UK in 1994 to work on developments including the award winning Two Rivers in Staines, the Bridges, Sunderland and the retail led masterplan for the centre of Birmingham including Martineau Place and Bullring.

Since joining Henderson, Martin has specialised in retail led mixed use development and is responsible for the management of developments in the UK and across mainland Europe totalling over £2bn of investment including the £850m redevelopment of the St. James Quarter in Edinburgh, the redevelopment of Great Ancoats Retail Park in Manchester, a new retail led mixed use quarter for Bishops Stortford, the northern quarter in Kidderminster, the Silverhill development in Winchester and has been significantly involved in the expansion of Buchannan Galleries in Glasgow.”


Councillor Frank Ross; Convenor of the Economy Committee; Edinburgh CouncilPhoto - Cllr Ross

As part of the Capital Coalition, Frank is Convener of the Council’s Economy Committee where he is responsible for taking forward the Coalition’s pledges to ensure Edinburgh’s economic growth and continued prosperity. Frank is Chair of EDI Group Ltd; Waterfront Edinburgh Limited; PARC Craigmillar; Marketing Edinburgh Ltd and the Capital City Partnership. Frank is a Director of Edinburgh International Conference Centre Limited; CEC Holdings limited; Cre8te Opportunities Limited and the Edinburgh International Science Festival. Frank is a Ward Councillor representing Corstorphine/Murrayfield where he has lived for over 40 years. Frank is a member of the Corstorphine Youth Community Centre management committee. Originally from London, Frank went to school at Leith Academy primary followed by George Watson’s College and finally on to Napier University. Frank has been a key figure in major Scottish businesses, working in the manufacturing/engineering sector of industry, mainly in Scotland, for a range of blue chip companies such as Racal, Chubb, Tomkins and Motherwell Bridge. An accountant to trade (FCMA) Frank worked his way up to operate at the highest managerial level in these organisations. More recently Frank has operated as a self employed Interim Manager focussing on Company turnarounds. This allowed Frank to become more politically active resulting in his election to the Council in 2012.


David Westwater; Development Director Interserve DevelopmentsDW

David Westwater is Development Director with Interserve Developments with overall responsibility for delivering development opportunities across Scotland.  He is currently progressing the £200 million development of the former Morrison Street goods yard site next to Haymarket station in Edinburgh. Interserve Developments is a division of Interserve plc, a £2bn global construction and FM company currently.

David is formerly development director at FairBriar plc and Frasers Property UK Ltd.  He has over 30 years’ experience in construction and property covering residential and commercial developments up to £200m.


Eric Adair; Director of Finance and Operations; The EDI GroupEric Adair A

Eric Adair was appointed Director of Finance for the EDI Group in 2006 and became Operations and Finance Director in 2009. A Chartered Accountant with previous employers including a Big Four accountancy practice and a large multinational manufacturing company, he has a breadth of financial management experience covering both public and private sectors. His previous role, as Project Sponsor of the highly regarded new campus for Edinburgh’s Telford College, not only delivered the first new build college in Scotland in over 20 years, but demonstrated to the sector what it could achieve through creative property development.  Eric now has overall responsibility for EDI.
