Government Property Development Conference; Supported by the Office of Government Property

Monday, 2nd November 2020 0930hrs – 1500hrs

Estates & Facilities – New Projects, Expansions, Demolition, Disposals and more…

World class property and facilities are integral to ensuring that Central Government can carry out its pivotal work effectively. However, local and global challenges mean it is now more important than ever to ensure that the development of our public sector estates addresses the fundamental obligation of inclusion, social value and sustainability whilst driving economic growth and development.

Our flagship Government Property Development Conference – supported by the Office of Government Property – will bring all of these issues and more to the forefront as we gather the biggest names and heads of estate and property for numerous government organisations and bodies.

The Government’s Estates & Facilities are extensive; they cover a wide range of sectors across the UK and like all properties in the UK they are facing significant challenges.

£billions are being spent on of New Projects, Expansions, Disposals, maintenance and more… and this conference will provide an insight into the development plans of many of the key Government departments including the following

  • Ministry of Justice (MOJ)
  • Cabinet Office
  • AWE
  • Dept for Education / LocateED
  • Office of Government Property
  • Infrastructure and Projects Authority

The Estates and development teams from the above government departments are keen to engage with delegates from the private sector with the following objectives

  • Provide visibility on their future work streams
  • Clarify the procurement process
  • Discuss more effective and smarter ways of working
  • Develop collaboration with current and potential supply chain partners
  • Gain access to a new skill base that can provide more inclusive and sustainable solutions

The conference follows 2 weeks on from the Government’s first budget and is timed perfectly for some of the Government departments to share their growth plans for the next 3-5 years.

These include the following;

  • MOJ’s Estate – 4 new prisons (plus 2 in construction) as part of 10,000 places announced last Autumn with £2.5bn investment
  • AWE – set to spend hundreds of £millions over the next few years; they have an estates strategy called “AWE 2050 Development Plan” which includes 6 massive secret projects over the next 10 years (details to be revealed at the conference)
  • LocatED/Dept for Education – a significant investment in the school’s programme is expected in the budget
  • More will be revealed from the Cabinet Office, Home Office and the Blue Light Sector

Our flagship Government Property Development Conference – supported by the Office of Government Property – will bring all of these issues and more to the forefront as we gather the biggest names and heads of estate and property for numerous government organisations and bodies.
