Here’s an overview of the confirmed speakers: St Helens Council – Lisa Harris, Executive Director of Place Services St Helens Borough Council has been working with the English Cities Fund to prepare planning applications for the first phases of the Earlestown and St Helens Town Centre Masterplan Development Frameworks. The St Helens Town Centre Masterplan alone will cost in the region of £300m to successfully implement plans. The schemes are predicted to take over 10 years to roll out, with the first phases to be delivered over the next couple of years. BXB Cowley Hill – Gary Goodman, Director As part of a JV with Promenade Estates, Gary and his team at DXB recently announced plans to build 1100 new homes on the largest brownfield site within the borough. Also included in their recently submitted planning application was 43,000ft of flexible commercial space and provision to build bars, restaurants and other leisure amenities. Romal Capital – Louise Pearce, Investment Director Romal Capital have recently undergone the transformation of Park Central at Liverpool waters, which now hosts over 120 new apartments, has access to 12 acres of parkland and is one of the first residential blocks in the Liverpool Waters plan to be completed. This adds to their previous development of a similar project, Quay Central – which was conpleted last year. Louise will be able to share best practice and thought leadership on the development of these towers, alongside other developments currently ongoing. Liverpool LEP – Asif Hamid MBE, Chair With over £600 billion of spending forecast on infrastructure over the next 10 years, Liverpool LEP are looking forwards to creating a high number of high skilled, well paid jobs within the region. As chair of Liverpool LEP, Asif will be able to share future plans and explain how these plans will drive economic growth and development in the Liverpool City Region. Knowsley Council – Tony Clark, Assistant Executive Director Development and Infrastructure Knowsley Council have recently entered into a joint venture with Genr8 Kajima for Huyton’s Town centre redevelopment. The Council has ambitious plans for Huyton and its progressing it’s 10-year development plan, including the creation of a commercial district, that will contain the Council’s new HQ, a hotel, commercial and residential accommodation; as well as a village green and significant improvements to the high street and station gateway area. The plan outlines the potential for approximately 1,700 jobs and a £50.8m boost to the local economy. Kier Property – Leigh Thomas, Managing Director With the development of the Pall Mall in Liverpool set to deliver up to 500,000 sq ft of commercial employment use, Kier Property have been chosen by Liverpool City Council to deliver this project. With a 280 bedroom hotel and a large scale piece of landscaped green space and public realm alongside the 400,000 sq ft of grade A office space, this development will be crucial to the regeneration of the Liverpool City Centre. As managing director, Leigh will be able to discuss how this major development will enhance the city centre. Wirral Council – Anita Leech, Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member for the Local Plan As Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for the Local Plan at Wirral Council, Anita is best placed to discuss how the Wirral Growth Company will continue to regenerate and develop the area. Anita will also be able to share insight into the new development of Birkenhead Town Centre, with further projects in Moreton and Bromborough shortly to follow whilst sharing views on best practice and thought leadership. The design will increase opportunities for employment, housing, leisure and community assets in an attempt to combat poverty, loneliness, life expectancy and sustainable employment whilst pursuing a carbon free environment. As a former Director for both the Combined Authority and MerseyTravel, Mick is well placed as an advisor to the owner of the Heath Park development scheme, and will be able to tell us more about what will be an internationally recognised environment once completed. Liverpool City Region Combined Authority – Mark Bousfield, Director of Commercial Development & Investment The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority have recently announced a £1.4bn economic recovery plan of major development projects in the bounce back after Covid-19. As Director of Commercial Development and Investment, Mark will be able to shed light on these developments and how they will assist the Liverpool City Region’s recovery. Glenbrook Property – Shannon Conway, Residential Director A staple of the Merseyside development scene, Glenbrook are seeking to bring forward the second phase of the Queens Dock development which is a £47m, 260 unit apartment project. Well reputed and respected across Liverpool they played a big part in the Liverpool One regeneration which has played a part in major perception shift in the city. Elsewhere in the North West they are developing a £57m residential project in Cornbook, Manchester. Knowledge Quarter Liverpool – Colin Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) is a 450-acre innovation district which spans more than half of Liverpool City Centre. It is home to an array of world-leading assets including the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, the Liverpool Health Campus, Hope Street cultural hub and the new £1bn Paddington Village development which includes iconic new-build, The Spine.
