City of Westminster Council – Deirdra Armsby, Director of Place Shaping and Town Planning

Deirdra is one of those leading the Council’s growth and planning strategies – and will therefore be the ideal person to share the ins-and-outs of the Council’s ongoing strategic plan to drive economic growth across the region. Her team heads up development planning, planning enforcement, strategic transport and infrastructure planning amongst many other things.

One area of her presentation will be the Council’s £750m housing strategy and the development masterplan surrounding London Victoria Station.

Greater London Authority – Megan Life, Manging for Policy, Housing and Land

The Greater London Authority are an important figure across the region – unlocking development, helping set targets and policy, and being at the forefront of fresh development projects coming forward.

Megan will be sharing information about the strategic approach being taken by the GLA across the capital and how that will affect and aid developers who’re looking to bring new developments forward.

Great Portland Estates – Andrew White, Development Director

Andrew joined Great Portland Estates in 2013 having previously worked for firms including Kier Property, BAA Lynton and Development Securities. He oversees total return of the development portfolio including the successful delivery of all development projects across the group.

The firm are one of the top 5 land owners in London and their development pipeline is overflowing with ongoing and future development schemes, and Andrew will be able to bring the audience up to date with the opportunities and the plans they have.

 

 

Yoo Capital – Lloyd Lee, Managing Partner

Having invested more than £2bn across London since 2011 the firm play an impressive role in developments happen across prime Central London sites. In 2018 they announced a masterplan to transform Olympia Exhibition Centre which is likely to get the go ahead in 2020.

This £1bn scheme will be the focus of Lloyd’s keynote presentation where they’re proposing a cultural hub including a 1,500-seat theatre and a 1,000-seat performing arts venue. It’ll also include two hotels, a cinema, 670,000 sq ft of creative office space, a 200,000 sq ft logistics centre and more.

Battersea Power Station – Gordon Adams, Head of Planning

The Battersea Power Station regeneration is one of the landmark schemes happening across the UK. The £9bn masterplan is set to be built over 8 phases and it is already transforming the site which laid derelict for so long.

The vibrant new destination will cover more than 19 acres of public space, and with Apple moving their UK HQ to the site it’s already gained traction. Gordon will give an update on where the scheme is up to and the next phases of work set to happen.

The Portman Estate – Michael Jones, Director – Project Management

The developer are working on several projects in Westminster – as they revamp their London portfolio by taking a direct role in a string of big developments.

They’re looking for partners to help shape some of the most famous and characterful streets in one of the world’s most vibrant cities and they’ll be sharing details of what is in store for their estate portfolio. They’re looking to invest over £320m in its portfolio and we’ll hear about the new strategy and what developments are in the pipeline.
