WEBINAR: Future Development Plans – Northern Ireland

Monday, 22nd June 2020 1000hrs – 1100hrs

Over the coming months we’ll be hosting a series of webinars – helping to keep the industry moving and talking during a period of uncertainty, enabling people to talk and build relationships whilst helping to maintain industry confidence and demonstrating thought leadership.

This webinar will focus on the development activity in Northern Ireland, whilst also addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months. Speakers will be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

This event will run in a similar manner to all of our physical events – with short presentations from several key speakers and opportunities for live Q&A and interaction.

Speakers for this event include:

Alistair Reid,
Strategic Director for Place and Economy
Simon Toplass,
Chief Executive
Amanda Griffiths,
Director

Alistair will talk about the council’s support for the £500m development in the Cathedral Quarter, the £60m development at Smithfield Market and the other initiatives they are collaborating on with private sector developers.
  • Bywater Properties – The regeneration specialist is behind plans to transform the neglected Smithfield Market area of Belfast with a mixed use scheme consisting of office space, retail and restaurant units and basement level parking. The £60 million, 200,000 sq ft development will also provide improved public realm and received the go ahead earlier this year.
  • Pagabo – Simon Toplass, one of the UK’s leading experts in procurement and frameworks, will share his views on what the industry needs to do to continue operating through the current crisis and what Pagabo are doing to maintain momentum.
