WEBINAR: Developing Towers & Tall Buildings; Sponsored by Montagu Evans

Thursday, 4th June 2020 1000hrs – 1100hrs

Over the coming months we’ll be hosting a series of webinars – helping to keep the industry moving and talking during a period of uncertainty, enabling people to talk and build relationships whilst helping to maintain industry confidence and demonstrating thought leadership.

This webinar will focus on the development on towers and large storey projects.

Tall buildings are a complex project to start. There are numerous challenges especially from a planning approval and design aspect, all to way to developing the right space and delivering the project.

But in many UK cities there is a urgent need for new Grade A office space and new residential units especially with the ever-growing PRS and BTR sector. This is leading to a plethora of new tower developments coming to the market – creating an unrecognisable skyline.

But we also need to be wary of our surroundings, communities and the heritage of cities which makes them unique when developing these large-scale projects, and we’ll be looking at the challenges, opportunities and future developments with some of the leading developers during this webinar.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Edge – the Dutch developer is bringing forward plans for Edge London Bridge – the ‘most sustainable office tower in London’. The recently announced project to create a 255,000 sq ft office tower comprising 26 storeys is the Dutch real estate giant’s first project in the UK, and is set for completion in 2025.
  • London Borough of Croydon – the Borough has become an unlikely eco-system for skyscrapers, and they’ve now worked up their Tall Buildings Strategy which will enable developers to bring forward further schemes. It’s already become the home to Britain’s second tallest building – One Lansdowne – and we’ll hear about whats next for the borough.
  • Regal Property Group – with several projects over 20 storeys under their belt, Regal Property Group are no strangers to tall building development. Mark will outline their recently announced 28 storey residential tower in Birmingham which will include 154 apartments, rooftop garden and sky cinema. He’ll also share plans on what’s next for the firm across the UK.
  • Montagu Evans – our webinar partner will be represented by Chris – a chartered town planner who specialises in all forms of sensitive land. He has a specialism in the planning of tall developments and having previously promoted many projects successfully over the last 15 years he’ll be able to share an experts view on the challenges, the opportunities and the marketplace.
