WEBINAR: Future Development Plans – Aberdeen & Dundee; Sponsored by Cognica

Thursday, 14th May 2020 1400hrs – 1500hrs

Over the coming months we’ll be hosting a series of webinars – helping to keep the industry moving and talking during a period of uncertainty, enabling people to talk and build relationships whilst helping to maintain industry confidence and demonstrating thought leadership.

This webinar will focus on the development activity in Aberdeen and Dundee, whilst also addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months. Speakers will be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

This event will run in a similar manner to all of our physical events – with short presentations from several key speakers and opportunities for live Q&A and interaction.

Speakers for this event include:

Robin Blacklock,
Chair
John Alexander,
Leader
Angela Linton,
Group Chief Executive
  • Dundee City Council – John is one of the most forward thinking Council leaders in Scotland and as a result Dundee has gone from strength to strength in recent years with some fantastic regeneration and development projects. So what next for Dundee? John will reflect on the work undertaken over the last few years and will share his vision and future plans for Dundee. We’ll also get his honest take on the current situation and what the industry needs to do to recover quickly when the pressure is eased on the economy and current restrictions.
  • Scottish Property Federation – In his role as Chair of the Scottish Property Federation, Robin has been working to support Scottish developers, investors, consultants and contractors during the early stages of the Covid 19 shutdown. He will provide an update on the SPF’s position on this, a view of the market focusing on Edinburgh, his thoughts on what people can be doing to keep things moving and an opinion as to how quickly the market can recover after the summer months when we anticipate that things will change.
  • Hillcrest Homes – With 9 projects in the pipeline across Dundee and Aberdeen totalling over £40m, Hillcrest are becoming one of the most prolific and reputable developers across Angus and Aberdeenshire. Angela will give delegates a peak behind the curtain on their plans while pointing to their expertise in bringing disused, historic buildings back into use for social housing purposes.
