WEBINAR: Future Development Plans – Tees Valley

Monday, 1st June 2020 1000hrs – 1100hrs

Over the coming months we’ll be hosting a series of webinars – helping to keep the industry moving and talking during a period of uncertainty, enabling people to talk and build relationships whilst helping to maintain industry confidence and demonstrating thought leadership.

This webinar will focus on the development activity in the Tees Valley, whilst also addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months. Speakers will be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

This event will run in a similar manner to all of our physical events – with short presentations from several key speakers and opportunities for live Q&A and interaction.

Speakers for this event include:

Julie Gilhespie,
Group Chief Executive
Angela Brockbank,
Head of Place Investment
Geoff Hogg,
Director
  • South Tees Development Corporation – one of the UK’s most exciting major development projects. Julie will talk about how the team is transforming a site covering 4,500 acres, and which includes the former SSI steelworks, into a range of mixed use developments and premises that will be at the forefront of clean growth and green technology.
  • Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council – with major investment promises being made by central government in the wake of some shock general election results, Redcar and Cleveland is one of the foremost priorities for the redirection of resources. With talk of the Treasury moving to neighbouring Middlesbrough and the South Tees Development Corporation basing itself in the borough, Angela will talk about how proposed billion pound investment will transform their constituency through development.
  • Chaloner Group – the mastermind behind the £55m, 11 hectare TeesAMP development project and a passionate Teessider, Geoff will join the panel to deliver a private sector perspective to developing difficult sites such as the one South Tees Development Corporation will shortly regenerate. With an ambition for Chaloner to expand nationally, he will give an overview of their ambition and what might be in the pipeline.
