This webinar will focus on the expansion of ports and the surrounding brownfield sites around ports.

UK ports play a vital role in driving the UK’s economy – and there are a number of major development and regeneration projects which are set to happen around ports as we see a continued increase in imports and exports.

  • Peel Ports – are at the forefront of the ports sector and are and have recently undertaken and have planned a number of large scale development schemes from the £50m Sheerness masterplan and the Liverpool Waters scheme to opening up land around Manchester and Cheshire through port development. Warren will add a planners perspective to the panel as to how the planning system and related reforms could drive the ports sector in a post Brexit world, whilst touching on port masterplans, and the importance of rail and road connectivity.
  • Port of Dover – are delivering a £250m game changing regeneration as part of their Western Docks revival. It is their single biggest investment ever. Barbara will be joining this session to give an overview of important role the port development play in kick-starting the regional economy in a post Brexit and Covid-19 world.
  • UK Major Ports – Tim will provide an update on how the UK ports are continuing to operate with uncertainty around Brexit and Covid-19 coming into play, but he’ll also reveal the growth plans for 2021 and onwards as ports continue to display tremendous flexibility and pragmatism in ways of working – with big pans for the future of UK ports.
