Huddersfield Town AFC Football Club Development Training Complex Academy

Premier League football club Huddersfield Town have revealed plans to develop a new training facilities which will be of ‘the highest standards’. The world-class development would include a showpiece pitch, incredible modern facilities for players and staff, along with a stand able to house supporters.

Huddersfield Town, who’ll be represented at the West Yorkshire Economic Growth Conference next week by Commercial Director Sean Jarvis, plan to invest up to £20m into their current PPG Canalside complex to ensure it’s up to the impeccable standards of the Premier League. The proposal suggests it could be completed in time for the 2020/2021 season – and will help to elevate the performance of their First Team and Academy, whilst also helping to attract new players to the club.

The new pitch is set to mirror the one used at the John Smith’s Stadium – home to both Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants. It will be laid on recently purchased land to the north east of the Leeds Road site and will be a hybrid surface complete with undersoil heating, floodlights and a stand.

Julian Winter, Chief Executive of Huddersfield Town, said of the plans: ”We’re delighted that, after some very hard work from several parties, we’ve reached the stage to be able to reveal our provisional plans for PPG Canalside to our supporters. It’s been fantastic to see the response to the initial announcement and to hear directly from fans in the early stages of our consultation process. It’s clear that they all understand how important these plans are to the long-term, sustainable success of their football club. This represents a very significant investment from the Chairman and the football club in turning PPG Canalside into an elite sports environment. We’re a club that prides itself on developing players and this state-of-the-art training complex will be a huge asset to the technical staff in that goal.”
