A development set to bring an ambitious residential development to the Old Oak and Park Royal regeneration site has been given to thumbs up – with a 20-storey tower brought forward by Fruition Properties. The development, part funded by Propio – an innovative crowdfunding investment platform, will also include a new church, nursery and community facilities.

There is set to be a huge amount of development and regeneration at the Old Oak and Park Royal site, which will be discussed at the HS2 Economic Growth Conference, and the £50m residential development is just one of the first to come to fruition.

Design and build contractor A29 architects, which partners Fruition on its scheme, will start work in early 2019 with the building set to be completed by 2021. Designed by Stiff + Trevillion architects the development will be situated on the north-eastern entrance areas of the 650 hectare development zone – providing 85 new homes comprising of one, two and three bed apartments. Those homes will be a mix of 35% for London Living Rent and 16 shared ownership.

The announcement will be the start of a number of schemes set to be happening across the area as Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation look to maximise economic growth opportunities in the region to deliver 25,500+ homes – all which will be a focus at the HS2 Economic Growth Conference.

It is the only area in London where the two transport lines will meet, providing the required infrastructure for this exciting new neighbourhood. Mani Khiroya, Managing Director of Fruition Properties, said: “When complete, not only will 2 Scrubs Lane provide much needed new private and affordable homes but also improved fit-for-purpose community facilities that will allow the local area to flourish.”
