HS2 Economic Growth Conference 2018 | Event

DEVELOPING STATIONS, HUBS & CITIES

HS2 will bring huge regeneration and development to the UK driving transformational economic growth – and this conference will look at how as an industry we can use HS2 to unlock huge opportunities for our region whilst hearing about the phenomenal developments and regeneration schemes which it will enable.

Through presentations, panel discussions and Q&A’s we’ll discover new schemes set to happen across each location, hear about how you can get involved in new projects and the procurement opportunities from the UK’s leading developers, whilst hearing exclusive insights from regional leaders about the future of each hub, city and region.

PROGRAMME & SPEAKERS

HS2 is much more than just trains and tracks – and our conference, supported by HS2 Ltd, will emphasis the need to collaborate as an industry to drive economic growth, accelerate the delivery of new homes, create new jobs, drive regeneration and development and much more – with plenty of networking time and exhibitors to connect with to enable you to be at the forefront of the HS2 economic growth story. We’ll be hearing from civic and business leaders from EVERY regional authority and hub who’re essential to ensuring opportunities are maximised in their area.

Keynotes:

We’ll open the event with several VIP speakers delivering keynotes to set to conference tone and align the industry to the key focuses which can enable and maximise growth opportunities. Keynotes include:

  • Sir Terry Morgan; HS2 Ltd
  • Jamie Kerr; LCR

London Hubs – Panel Discussion & Major Development Plans Presentations

We’ll bring together the regional leaders and discussion makers to discuss the opportunities, constraints and vision for the London Hubs and how this can unlock incredible growth opportunities for Euston, Old Oak and Park Royal, and the wider London and UK economy.

Presentations will then follow with a focus on the major development plans and procurement opportunities within the land surrounding both the Euston area and the Old Oak and Park Royal sites – with land owners and developers revealing potential schemes and development zones, and highlighting how the supply chain can get involved. Speakers include:

West Midlands Hubs – Panel Discussion & Major Development Plans Presentations

The West Midlands is set to be the first stop for HS2 outside of the capital – which will see huge transformation schemes in both Solihull and Birmingham City Centre. Inward investment is already increasing with in imminent arrival of the high speed network and projects are set to enable huge community developments and city centre projects whilst spreading the benefits to the wider regions of the West Midlands. Our panel of speakers will be essential in ensuring that happens, and they’ll be giving their insight and vision for the future whilst aligning the audience on the main focuses and needs for the region – before presentations from some of the regions biggest land owners, investors and developers on future schemes.

Crewe & Manchester Hubs – Panel Discussion & Major Development Plans Presentations

Next we’ll focus on the huge opportunities which will be enabled by the arrival of HS2 to Crewe and Manchester through phase two. With so much still to be set in stone there will be exclusive insights uncovered whilst we’ll be ensuring the industry is collaborating early to drive inward investment, homes, jobs and more within Crewe, Manchester and the surrounding regions as regional leaders gather to drive regeneration and development schemes in their areas to prepare for the arrival of HS2. Speakers include:

East Midlands & Sheffield Hubs – Panel Discussion & Major Development Plans Presentations

Phase two of HS2 will also move through the Midlands on its way to Yorkshire – and that could provide huge benefits by linking cities and towns together. The new station at Toton already has an incredibly ambitious plan to create thousands of jobs and homes whilst Sheffield is planning to integrate the station into the heart of the city. The panel discussion will bring leaders together to discuss the key opportunities within this region and how those in the industry can help enable and maximise potential – before we hear several presentations on the major development zones and future schemes set to happen – with details on procurement opportunities and how to get involved. Speakers include:

Leeds Hub – Panel Discussion & Major Development Plans Presentations

The last hub we’ll visit is Leeds – where senior business and civic leaders will hold a panel discussion on the exciting developments set to happen through the arrival of HS2 including the city centre doubling in size! The panel discussion will be followed by presentations of some of the major developers and land owners central to ensuring that the opportunity are maximised and spread to the wider Yorkshire region. Speakers include:

If you’re wanting to be at the forefront of the HS2 economic growth story and get involved in the huge development and regeneration projects set to happen across the UK the conference is unmissable!

Classic Compatible Hubs – Panel Discussion / Q&A

Not only will HS2 enable economic growth within the cities the hubs are set to be positioned – but here are huge opportunities for those towns and cities bordering and surrounding the regions. They’ll be looking to ensure that they also maximise the potential to boost inward investment, create new jobs and accelerate housing for those commuting to surrounding areas via the improved infrastructure and transport links. We’ll be hearing from a few of those to hear their plans and vision, hearing who in the industry they’re looking to engage with and how what the future of their towns and cities look like. Speakers are set to include:

Northern Powerhouse Rail – Panel Discussion / Q&A

Lastly the conference will hear about Northern Powerhouse Rail – an infrastructure project that will be equally as important to improving connectivity and productivity within the Northern Powerhouse. Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield as examples have 80% the population of London – but just 40% economic output – and to drive economic growth within the North it’ll be crucial that this infrastructure is implemented in addition to HS2. We’ll be hearing from the names driving the NPR agenda forward including:

Will HS2 and the Northern Powerhouse be a focus for your business over the next 5-10 years? If so this event is a must-attend!
