This one-day conference will reveal new insights into future development plans across the UK through a series of exceptional panel discussions and gripping presentations – with new and exclusive information and intel set to be shared on opportunities, major new development zones and procurement and work opportunities as the biggest public sector authorities and private sector firms look to engage with the built environment industry.

The sessions will include:

  • Keynote Speeches; the Chairman of HS2 (Alan Cook) and representation from Government will be amongst the keynotes setting the tone for the conference and the role HS2 will place of the wider UK economy
  • Leeds – Developing for the arrival of HS2; the city of Leeds is ‘set to double in size’ over the coming years, all aided by the arrival of HS2 and we’ll hear about the city’s plans and those of major private developers as they transform the city through mass regeneration.
  • London – An update on progress; work in the capital is already underway and we’ll hear about the projects to transform Euston, the creation of the Old Oak & Park Royal transport hub, and the wider development happening due to being unlocked through HS2 with over 30,000 new homes and huge employment sites being created.
  • Birmingham – Is it HS2 ready?; the first area to be impacted by HS2 outside of London will be Greater Birmingham, and we’ll hear about the schemes kickstarting around Solihulls Hub and the city centre transformation happening in Birmingham – and how the wider infrastructure agenda will aid further development and regen across the West Midlands.
  • East Midlands – Connecting the South and North; a new hub will be created at Toton which will be a thriving and vibrant new location which will house employment zones, higher education institutions, thousands of homes and more. We’ll hear how this will aid economic growth in cities like Leicester, Derby and Nottingham, and the plans for the surrounding areas.
  • The North West – Developing for the arrival of HS2; Crewe and Manchester are both set for HS2 hubs and this is boosting inward investment and has enabled multi-billion pound projects across the region, and we’ll hear about the huge development sites set to be unlocked.
  • Northern Powerhouse; Northern Powerhouse Rail is seen as essential to the North of England – and recent discussions have seen a working partnership between HS2, NPR and senior leaders across the North to look at the delivery of both of these schemes at the same time. We’ll hear on why this scheme is so important, the challenges to overcome, the opportunities it will unlock across the North and more.
  • Sheffield – HS2’s Impact on the Steel City; inward investment conversations ‘are at an all time high’ which is said to be down to the HS2 hub’s arrival, and with two major universities and a city centre masterplan transforming the city it’s a great time to be involved in the city – and we’ll hear about the future development plans for South Yorkshire.
