On the 15th January, prominent business leaders within the construction and property industry will come together for the Birmingham and West Midlands Development Plans Event – one of the region’s largest business events of the year within the construction sector.

The event, hosted by Built Environment Networking, will see some of the region’s leading civic and business leaders discuss the major topics within the region and present about their ongoing and future development and regeneration plans which are set to transform the region. Speakers include:

  • Birmingham City Council
  • Oval Real Estate [emaillocker id=”71749″]
  • Court Collaboration
  • High Street Residential
  • Arena Central Developments

The conference will provide an opportunity for those within the industry to gain insight on projects likely to take place within the region, whilst also giving a platform to debate and discuss the issues at the top of the economic and regional agenda.

Cllr Sharon Thompson, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods at Birmingham City Council, said: “With a growing population we need to build 89,000 new homes by 2031 in Birmingham. While we have some major housing schemes such as Smithfield and Ladywood taking place it’s crucial that we recognise the ever-growing priority to secure new affordable homes. It’s essential that we address the needs of all our communities as well as embracing the green agenda for building a low carbon world.”

Paul McNeill, Director at sponsors Ball & Berry, said: “Our decision to open a third office in Birmingham early in 2019 was based on the huge amount of opportunity this city offers to developers today and will continue to present way into the future. The public’s attention continues to be on what Birmingham can contribute to the needs of local people and those visiting the city, so we’re excited to hear from other professionals at the Birmingham Development Plans event about the unique elements they are each bringing to housing, retail, office, leisure and education spaces that will see Birmingham continue to deliver the highest economic figures in the UK, outside of London and the South East.”

Peter O’Brien, Managing Director of O’Brien Contractors, said: “Having attended several Midlands events this year, we know that the event will be an ideal opportunity to meet with other delegates and speakers at the event, as well as an opportunity to understand what construction projects are coming to the Midlands in the near future.”
