Bruntwood have revealed the name of their flagship collaborative workspace development at Alderley Park. ‘Glasshouse’, which is set to be a key component of the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone, was chosen as the name for the development as it ‘reflects spirit of innovation and flourishing ideas’.

The project is set to create 150,000 sq ft of high specification, collaborative workspace to tech companies and forward-thinking businesses which will not only contribute but also help drive the regional and national economy. It aims to provide co-working, serviced, managed and leased space options – with a completion target of July 2019.

Dr Chris Doherty, Managing Director of Alderley Park, said: ”The name Glasshouse reflects the essence of our site – a place where new ideas can thrive and discovery-based businesses start and scale up. It offers generous workspace set in beautiful grounds, surrounded by exceptional facilities and amenities. At the heart of the building is an impress atrium, incorporating a café and networking areas. This will play an essential role in nurturing a collaborative community within the building and we very much hope that connections will happen naturally through physical and digital space.”

It wont be the only development happening in the near future on the site as Bruntwood, speakers at the Greater Manchester Economic Growth Conference, have also secured planning permission for:

  • 20,000 sq ft of dining and retail space including;
  • 8,000 sq ft pub and restaurant
  • A farm shop
  • 21 newly created hotel rooms

The site is already thriving with over 2,000 people working at the Park, and the new plans are set to continue to see the area become even more vibrant and bustling. The park offers a good work/life balance with the area overlooking woodland and farmland, along with amenities for use including a gym, football and cricket pitches and numerous woodland trails.

Bruntwood will be sharing more details of their schemes within the North West at the Greater Manchester Economic Growth Conference.
