A project which could bring a new outlet village and thousands of new homes to Lincolnshire is set to be promoted overseas in a bid to raise £200m in investment. The regeneration scheme is set to be promoted by International Trade Secretary and MP Liam Fox – as he looks to give the Grantham Southern Quadrant a cash injection.

It’s one of several ongoing and potential proposals for developments in Lincolnshire – and we’re set to hear more about them at the Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference in July as Rioja Developments have been confirmed as a speaker.

The project will be underpinned by the creation of a new relief road from the A1 to the A52, with the infrastructure providing the base for 3,500 new homes and 25 acres of retail space in a new outlet village.

Initial proposals for the designer outlet village by our conference speakers Rioja Developments include play areas, cafes, restaurants and an 85-room hotel – and further development is also being weighted up as South Kesteven Council (who’ll be speaking at the Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference) continue to work on their Local Plan.

The move by MP Liam Fox to part of a larger investment drive which hopes to raise £30bn to fund projects across the UK by creating an online shop, so overseas investors can find British development opportunities quickly and efficiently.

Mr Fox said: ”It’s a bold and ambitious programme, building on the UK’s position as the leading destination for foreign investment in Europe through the Government’s Industrial Strategy, helping to build a Britain fit for the future. The High Potential Opportunities (HPO) scheme will deliver growth where it is most needed, ensuring that the benefits of global investment are felt in every part of the country. And with more than £30bn worth of new opportunities, my international economic department’s overseas network is working hard to attract top investors to the UK.”

We’re excited to hear more about the potential development in Grantham, the impact it could have on the wider economic growth and other development projects set to happen in the region at the Lincolnshire Development Plans Conference.
