Scottish housebuilder Springfield Properties have been given the go-ahead for a massive 3,000+ community development – Durieshill in Stirling.

The £650m project has been given the green light by Stirling Council, subject to the completion of a Section 75 agreement, and it is the largest project in Scotland to have received planning permission in its first attempt.

The development will include:

  • New 593-acre village
  • 3,042 new homes [emaillocker id=”71749″]
  • Primary school and secondary school
  • Public library
  • 30-unit care home
  • Office space
  • Commercial units
  • Parks and greenspace
  • GDV of approx £650m

Work is likely to begin on the scheme in Autumn of 2020 and take 20 years to complete – and Springfield Properties will be speaking and attending our Future Development Plans Event to meet the construction supply chain and those that can help bring the scheme forward. Springfield Properties have a history of bringing forward major developments and this is their fourth village project.

The homes will be delivered for a mixture of uses – private, affordable and PRS. In total 763 of the homes will be affordable houses – a 25% total.

Innes Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Springfield Properties, said: “We’re delighted to have received approval for Durieshill, which we believe is the largest detailed planning application to have been approved in Scotland. This will be our fourth village development and this consent is an important milestone in the delivery of our strategy. Our villages are designed to accelerate the provision of the many new homes needed across Scotland as well as provide everything a community needs to flourish.”
