On the 24th January, prominent business and public-sector leaders will come together at the Birmingham Development Plans conference – one of the City’s largest business events of the year within the property and construction industry.

The event, hosted by Built Environment Networking, will see some of the region’s biggest names in business lead a regional discussion including presentations of ongoing or proposed development plans in the area and plans for the region’s future. 

Speakers are the event include Huw Rhys Lewis, Managing Director of the Urban Growth Company. Urban Growth Company is a special purpose delivery vehicle, established to lead and develop major infrastructure investment at the UK Central Hub in Solihull,  a key component of the UK strategic economic growth area.

Maria Machancoses, Director at Midlands Connect, has been confirmed as one of the speakers at the conference. She’ll be discussing the transport strategy they’ve developed that identifies the major infrastructure projects needed to improve the connectivity of the region’s key locations which will help drive economic growth and power the Midlands Engine.

Rob Eaton, Head of Planning, Transport & Strategy at Birmingham Airport will giving an overview of what is happening at the airport and where they’re up to with their expansion.

Completing the line-up is Andy Duggins, Senior Project Manager at HS2 and Karl Tupling, Midlands General Manager at Homes & Communities Agency.

This event will provide an opportunity for those within the industry to gain insight on projects likely to take place within the region, whilst also giving a platform to debate and discuss the issues at the top of the economic and regional agenda.
