New Train Station Moves Step Forward in Yorkshire Posted on: July 18th, 2020 The West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Transport Fund is enabling plans for a new train station at Elland to move to the next stage of planning. The latest plans will see a new train station with accompanying access improvements being delivered – and now local communities and businesses are being invited to add their voice to the plans – which can be done online. [emaillocker id=”71749″] The new station, which would connect Elland via the Leeds to Huddersfield line, will help attract further businesses to the area, whilst supporting those in the area and driving economic growth. The project is one of numerous schemes being brought forward with the support of the Combined Authority – and the Chair of WYCA Susan Hinchcliffe will be sharing further details of their plans on our West Yorkshire Development Conference. Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Resources, Councillor Jane Scullion, said: “The planned new station and access improvements are part of an exciting future for the town, complementing other improvement projects like the exciting proposals as part of the Future High Streets fund and Phase 4 of the A629 programme. Initial feedback to the plans was incredibly positive and as we move forward to the next stage of approvals we want to hear people’s thoughts again to ensure the latest plans continue to meet people’s needs. This project would transform Elland town centre, bringing huge potential benefits to local residents, businesses and the wider Calderdale community.”You can register for the West Yorkshire Development Conference here: https://www.built-environment-networking.com/event/west-yorkshire-development-conference/ [/emaillocker]
