Matthew Hunt, Port Director at Port of Sunderland, said: “We’re delighted to be speaking at the Ports Development Conference and are looking forward to sharing with our industry peers how we’re continuing to grow Port of Sunderland and why it’s important that we, as an industry, continue to support one another. Ports play a vital role in driving economic growth and events like this play a huge role in ensuring that we continue to not only collaborate but also to innovate – and we’re delighted to be playing a key role in making this happen.”

Amanda Coupland, Director at Built Environment Networking said: ‘’The Thames Estuary corridor has the potential to support unprecedented growth. This area of the UK is a tapestry of productive places, and it could generate an additional £190bn GVA and 1.3m new jobs by 2050 – with 1m new homes needed to support that growth. To deliver the vision of a thriving Thames Estuary we must tackle key challenges early as an industry, whilst ensuring a culture of collaborative working is embedded into our working to ensure we maximise growth potential, support innovation and deliver a legacy for future generations to enjoy in every region. This conference will do just that.’’

Matthew Gray, Operations Manager at Develop Training Ltd, said: “As gateways for international trade and tourism, ports are clearly critical for trade and prosperity, but their influence goes further. Thriving ports can deliver positive regeneration, stimulating development and infrastructure in and around their locations. Delivering on the vision of a thriving Thames Estuary corridor will take leaderships, and a lot of skilled workers – and, as one of the UK’s leading providers of safety, compliance and technical training, that’s exactly where we can help. We’re delighted to be exhibiting at such an important, and influential, event and we are looking forward to engaging with delegates about how we can help them get the most out of their employee training.”
