Plans have been submitted for two schemes at Wirral Waters – the huge regeneration site being transformed by Peel Land and Property. The proposals highlight the creation of more than 500 new homes and 400,000 sq ft of office and employment space.

Peel Land and Property, who are set to speak at the Liverpool City Region Development Plans Conference, have submitted plans for 536 one and two-bedroom apartments with associated parking and landscaping as part of their ‘Legacy’ project – which forms part of the first phase of development at Wirral Waters. Designed by Glenn Howells Architects and submitted by national planning and development consultancy Turley the site will transform the western part of the Northbank of Wirral Waters on the East Float former dock.

Legacy forms the frontrunner for a number of other residential-led projects including HoUSe and Mansion HoUSe – being brought forward by innovative housing provider Urban Splash.

The other development submitted is for a large office development, and the submitted application is seeking reserved matters approval for the development of offices, decked car parking with 1,100 spaces and other associated works – which has been designed by leading architects 5Plus Architects. The plans highlight development across four buildings – two large office buildings, one slightly smaller build and a multi-storey car park.

The two schemes aim to ‘set the tone’ for future development on the site and provide a platform for further investment. It’s another move forward for the Wirral Waters site which also submitted plans this week for the Egerton Village Arts & Amenity Hub development as part of phase one – which will also include a Maritime Knowledge Hub and a South Tower office development.
