Springfield Properties have become one of the first UK companies to commit to installing cabling for electric cars on all new property builds. The company, one of the largest house builders in Scotland, will now deliver the infrastructure as standard in a move that anticipates the expected growth of electric cars in the next few years.

We’ll be hearing more about their new announcement alongside their new-build projects at the Edinburgh Development Plans Conference on the 26th April.

The feature will be included within their new 3,000 home development beside the Inveralmond roundabout in Perth, known as the Bertha Park Village. The City of Perth is situated just 30minutes from Dundee and an hours drive from Edinburgh, and with good commuter infrastructure its set to be a popular new village development. The village is also set to include commercial units for retail, medical and leisure services, along with a new high school which is expected to be open for the 2019 academic year.

Chief Executive of Springfield Properties – Innes Smith – said of the announcement: ”The Scottish government has pledged that by 2032 all new vehicles sold in this country will be electric, but we anticipate that the uptake will increase rapidly long before then. One of our values as a company is to include everything a customer needs in their home, so with this in mind we wanted to make it as easy as possible for our customers to go electric.”

Join us at the Edinburgh Development Plans Conference to hear from Springfield Properties and five other big developers – Artisan Real Estate, Interserve, Sanctuary Group Scotland & Murray Estates.
