Blue Light Estates Development Conference

This online conference will focus on the development, expansion and upgrade programmes for blue light organisations.

Hundreds of Millions of pounds worth of emergency service property projects are set to be discussed at Built Environment Networking’s industry leading Blue Light Estates Development conference. One of the main themes for 2020 will be what’s next from a development perspective in regards to the Forces in attendance. At this event, delegates will hear about upcoming projects, how to get involved in delivering them and also the next proposed realm of schemes to be delivering under the One Public Estate initiative.

Enable North Yorkshire – Simon Garnett-Spence, Head of Assets

Enable North Yorkshire is the collaboration of all support (enabling) functions within police and fire in North Yorkshire. Simon will be able to share insight into the ambitions to deliver truly joined up facilities and services which provide the platform for collaborative working for partners, and result in efficient and effective assets, driven by public and client needs.

Devon and Cornwall Police – Laura Haynes, Head of Estates

Devon and Cornwall Police Estate is in the midst of a multi-million pound transformation covering a number of sites. As part of this session Laura will update our audience on the state of play for each forthcoming project while talking about the force’s collaboration with other emergency services on property schemes.

The National Fire Service Estates Group – Alex Brown, Chair

The National Fire Service Estates Group has just completed its formative year with a number of key positions filled. Operating similarly to its police contemporary it will help shape property policy and influence across Tri-forces, local and central government in a bid to ensure blue light estate projects are fully funded. Alex also oversees the ever transforming Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue estate and will talk about how national thinking is influencing her property initiatives.

 

National Police Estates Group – Sallie Blanks-Nash, National Co-ordinator

As the national co-ordinator and voice of the National Police Estates Group, Sallie has tremendous influence over policy, procurement strategy, collective innovation and shaping trends. As part of this session she will be in a position to update delegates on NPEG strategy for sustainability and net zero going forward while commenting on how police estates groups across the country will achieve this and the role police estates will play in Tomorrow’s Net Zero Britain.

 

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue – Steve Kightley, Director of Property

Describing Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue as an “excellent service to the community and great place to work but a little bit behind the curve in terms of estate development”, Steve is joining this event to talk about the ongoing and forthcoming evolution of their property. He is the National Fire Estates Group committee lead for environment and sustainability and will talk about how zero carbon factors into his development plans.

 

Cheshire Fire & Rescue & Cheshire Police – Steve McGlade, Head of Joint Estates

Purveyor of an estate that covers a large geographical area, Steve’s main focus in the coming years is centred around infrastructure and sustainability modifications that need to be made to their property. He is particularly interested in energy concerns due to the advent of electrified fleet being imminent and the zero carbon agenda being pushed heavily across the sector. As part of this session, he will talk through what the next 10 years look like under his watch.

Gloucestershire Constabulary – Vicki Heselton, Head of Estates and Support Services

Gloucestershire Constabulary are making plans to transform one of the region’s largest operational police centres and a multitude of other projects in the pipeline, it’s an exciting time for the constabulary. Vicki will be on hand to talk about her schemes, discuss some of the challenges facing her team and outline her opinions of strategic estates matters across the Blue Light sector.

 

Cabinet Office – Chris Watts, Regional Programme Manager (Blue Light Estates)

Blue light collaboration is at the heart of everything that they do. Chris will talk about the next phase of the funding aimed at the Blue Light sector and how his remit plays a key role in making cross sector collaboration a reality.

 

West Yorkshire Police – Matt Saunders, Head of Estates

West Yorkshire Police estate consists of 113 premises and is coming towards the end of its 5 year estate development plan. With new initiatives in the pipeline to cover the 2020-2025 period, Matt will be on hand to talk about how the force is having to re-adapt its plans to deal with challenges such as Covid-19 and their next set of property priorities.

Sypro – Simon Hunt, Chief Executive Officer

Simon is the CEO and Co-Founder of Sypro Management Limited. After starting the company back in 2008, he is now responsible for day-to-day management of the business and for effective client training and on-boarding. Simon draws from his experience gained working within IT security for government and healthcare organisations to ensure Syrpo’s software is both secure and effective.
