This event will delve into the future development, investment and regeneration opportunities across Stockport and the surrounding region.

Stockport is at the forefront of town centre regeneration and set to become one the UK’s ‘coolest, greenest’ towns with major investment leading to a huge pipeline of development building on the track record of delivery in the town over recent years.

The Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) – the first of its kind to focus on a town centre – is driving this agenda with the support of Stockport Council, Homes England and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. 

In this webinar we’ll get more insight into how 3,500 new homes and over 1 million square foot of new employment floorspace will help transform the town between now and 2025. The MDC and Stockport Council have significant appetite to attract more investors and developers to help them reshape Stockport as a place to live, work, connect, and visit for the decades to come and deliver their transformational ambition for the town.

Investment in the region of £1bn is set to be discussed at this event – which will be revealed through a series of short presentations before open Q&A from our audience.

  • Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation – Lord Kerslake was appointed Chair of Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) to lend his experience and expertise to efforts to deliver the major transport and regeneration ambitions for the town. He will reveal more details about the vast projects that make up the MDC’s plans and their vision to make Stockport on the the UK’s ‘coolest, greenest’ towns.
  • Capital & Centric – Capital & Centric have been enticed to help deliver part of Stockport’s town centre regeneration with the redevelopment of Weir Mill. The £60 million redevelopment will see 254 apartments being built as well as 24,000 square ft of commercial space which will revitalise the area. Tim will give more intel on the scheme and explore why Capital & Centric were attracted to invest and develop in Stockport.
  • Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council – Along with Lord Kerslake, Cllr Wilson has been leading on the vision for Stockport to become the ‘Coolest, Greenest’ town in the UK. Cllr Wilson will give more intel on the transformational development for the town which will see 3,500 new homes and over 1 million square foot of new employment floorspace built between now and 2025 which will reshape Stockport as a place to live, work, connect, and visit for the decades to come.
  • Homes England – Danielle is the lead contact with partners in Cities and Major Conurbations for Homes England as well as being on the board of the Mayoral Development Corporation, working to increase housing supply and unlock opportunities for growth. She will reveal more about the 3,500 new homes that form a part of this scheme which will reshape Stockport as a place to live, work, connect, and visit for the decades to come.
