Who’s speaking on Friday 8th November

We already have some exceptional industry leaders and experts confirmed to speak at the London Property Club conference. More speakers are being added all the time, so please keep an eye on this page.

Bank of England – Rob Elder, London Agent

Rob became the Bank of England’s Agent for Greater London in May 2018 having joined the firm in 1998. He initially supported the Monetary Policy Committee as an economist and was then senior manager for 12 years until 2010 when he represented the UK on the board of the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. When he returned he worked in the Bank of England press office and then the Financial Policy Committee running a team monitoring developments in the UK banking sector.

He is the eyes and ears around London for the Bank of England, and with his incredible knowledge he’ll be delivering a keynote at the event of the capital’s economic outlook, opportunities and trends.

Countryside Properties – Mike Woolliscroft, Regional Managing Director

Mike is the Managing Director for London, and has been with the firm since 2014 – and the regional department has growth massively since his arrival at Countryside Properties.
They’re now working on over 5 large multi-phase projects within more than ten live sites currently under development. The business is growing and they’re behind some of the most ambitious schemes across the UK.

He’ll be sharing details of their ongoing and future development projects, the timeframes and phases behind them, exclusive intel into the procurement process and more.

City and Docklands – Gary Sacks, Chairman and CEO

Gary is Founder and Managing Director of The City and Docklands Group. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has been active in the property industry for the past two decades.

After moving to the UK in 1986, he started a furniture company, supplying furniture to the property industry and subsequently transitioned the business into residential development.

The company has strategic investments in ancillary property management businesses, giving Gary a very good insight into the residential market trends.

Gary is a Trustee of various charities including Norwood and Grief Encounter.

London Borough of Ealing – Lucy Taylor, Director – Regeneration & Planning

Ealing is booming. From the £2bn Meridian Water scheme to the numerous major redevelopments happening – it’s a truly exciting period for the region.

Lucy is an experienced planning and regeneration director with a proven history within the public sector – including past roles within the London Development Agency and Greenwich Council. She now have 10 years under her bely at Ealing Council – and she has worked on some impressive schemes.

But the future will be the focus of her presentation at the London Property Club event, and she’ll be giving an overview of the biggest projects set to happen across the borough and the available development sites and zones, and the ones they’re looking to unlock.

London Borough of Brent – Alice Lester, Director – Regeneration, Growth & Employment

The Borough of Brent is set to undergo a major transformation, with large regeneration and renewal projects proposed. 

Alice is newly promoted to her role as Director of Regeneration, Growth and Employment within the council and she is therefore bringing a fresh outlook to the role. 

She’ll be discussing the big projects proposed across the region, with details on how firms can get involved, whilst also delving into the vision the Council has.

Quintain – Catherine Webster, Exec Director – Strategy & Investment 

Catherine leads on Quintains business strategy, financing and investment initiatives at Wembley Park as well as new sites for mixed use development, with a focus on built to rent currently. She works extremely closely with all areas of the business – driving new business initiatives to ensure successful resourcing, structuring and delivery.

Transactions range from investing in new sites, place-making initiatives, and repositioning of assets to divesting of non-core assets.  She is responsible for the equity and debt relationships, ensuring funding is available when needed, and is the lead relationship manager with external finance sources.  For new business, Catherine takes the lead in viability, structuring and funding to ensure the team is successful in not only the bidding phase but also the eventual development and completion of the project.

Argent – Anna Strongman, Partner

Anna has a strong reputation within the industry, having worked at the likes of Cushman & Wakefield, ARUP and the UK Ministry of Defence before taking up her role within Argent.

Her current role has a particular focus on leading the asset management team – overseeing all asset management, estate management, placemaking, regeneration, community and sustainability projects at King’s Cross whilst leading on those elements across numerous other projects as well, including the Coal Drops Yard retail development project.

In addition, Anna is leading the development of Argent’s Build to Rent portfolio. She believes passionately in creating successful places for all who live, work and visit them.

Greystar – James Pargeter, Senior Projects Director

James joined the development team at Greystar in 2016 – with a focus on the delivery of BTR communities in the UK, a model which is still evolving for the development giants. He heads up engagement with central and local government at a time when policy around BTR and multifamily housing is emerging strongly, whilst connecting with key local stakeholders of projects. With over 20 years’ experience of delivering homes across the whole tenure spectrum he’ll be able to share some incredible expertise with the audience.

Greystar has launched a £2bn BTR fund – and they’ll be sharing details of their ongoing and future development projects in this marketplace.
