ONLINE CONFERENCE: Housing & Build to Rent; Sponsored by Rentplus

Friday, 5th June 2020 0900hrs – 1645hrs

Online Webinar,

We’re launching a series of new online conferences – bringing you everything you come to expect of our normal events – fantastic speakers, excellent panel discussions, presentations on future development projects, networking with attendees, exhibition area and more.

This online conference will focus on housing and build to rent.

There is a real need to accelerate the delivery of new homes across the UK – with millions of new homes needing to be delivered over the coming years. This is leading to a plethora of new development activity, from new garden villages and community developments to an increase in BTR, PRS and city centre living. Modern methods of construction and the climate crisis are all key considerations too.

The marketplace is changing. And at our Housing & Build to Rent Conference we’ll bring together the key stakeholders from both the public and private sector who’ll be at the forefront of accelerating the delivering of new homes across the UK. Some of the things on the agenda include:

* Godwin Development’s new Core Living PRS brand* Aster Group’s ambitious growth plan
* How London will achieve 65,000 new homes a year* Home Group’s 5-year plan to build 10,000 homes

Their current schemes include the 75-home Old Brewery site in Mansfield, a new scheme to the west of Coventry that they’re working to bring forward, and a 165-property project in Telford.

They’re now working in the North West too – and they’ll be revealing their next acquisition, their plans, and their procurement processes alongside sharing views on the market and best practice in developing communities.

The group is one of the largest housing and social care organisations in the Midlands – providing 13,000 homes, whilst also providing health and social care to 80,000 people.

They’re a key Homes England partner and are looking to continue bringing former values-led development schemes and they’ll be discussing their vision and plans during the event.

Rentplus – Steve Collins, Chief Executive

With the Government committed to expanding ‘Rent to Buy’ and the housing minister confirming Rent to Buy for affordable home ownership tenure within the NPFF, Rentplus has £2bn of fund to immediately invest in Rent to Buy properties.

The firm is seeking new local authority and housing association partners. They have a current pipeline of 10,000 new homes with 5,000 due to be in contract by 2020 and they’ll discuss how they’ll play a key role in delivery more homes across the UK.

Bromford – Amanda Swann, Development Director

The housing association owns almost 45,000 homes across central and south west England.

They have an ambitious development target – with a further 14,000 already planned to be built in the next 8 years.

The past few years for L&Q have been nothing short of phenomenal – with a large vision announced and acquisitions of other big players in UK housebuilding.

The Mayor’s Office, London Assembly – Tom Copley, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development

The Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development will be in a great position to share an overview of the current marketplace, plans being put in place to boost the London property market Covid-19 and the wider plans for developing homes in the capital.

There is a real need to create affordable and adequate housing in the capital, and with land value so high there are a lot of challenges to overcome.
