Future Development Plans – Bradford

Monday, 7th September 2020 1400hrs – 1500hrs

This webinar will focus on the development and regeneration of Bradford.

The City of Bradford is seen as one of the city’s set to benefit the most from the Northern Powerhouse Agenda, and they’re gearing up for a major investment and development programme.

Joining us on this webinar will be the Council to discuss their short and long term vision for the city – with a key focus on the regeneration of the city centre. And the private sector developers – such as NEC Group who’re creating a new event’s focused mixed-use project in the centre – will reveal what’s attracting them to Bradford and sharing exclusive intel on their current and future proposed projects.

Speakers for this event include:

Shelagh O’Neill,
Assistant Director, Economy and Development
Nicola Greenan Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council Nicola Greenan,
Director for Cultural Partnerships
David Wells,
Director
Dan Boulger NEC Group Dan Boulger,
Venues Mobilisation Manager

  • City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council – has been calling out for Northern Powerhouse Rail for a number of years – the much-needed investment and growth it could mean to the region is astronomical. We’re already seeing the start of this, with a multi-million-pound train station upgrade, and the recently announced major office project at the award-winning City Park. There are so many opportunities in Bradford – and we’ll be hearing all the details from Strategic Director of Place Shelagh O’Neill and a key voice in the cultural partnership’s team Nicola Greenan as part of this session.
  • NEC Group – are the operators behind the transformation of the former Odeon cinema site into a 3800 capacity live events venue which will bring millions of people into Bradford city centre. Dan has described Bradford as “a city that feels like it is on an upward curve” and he will talk about NEC’s plans to aid in the unlocking of yet more regeneration across the city centre.
  • Muse – are the master developer selected by Bradford Council to deliver the Bradford City Park regeneration project which will be focused around 56,000 sq ft of office space alongside major public realm reshaping in the city centre. David will talk about how the project will act as a catalyst for further city centre renewal and also touch on some of the other development’s Muse are hoping to bring forward in West Yorkshire.
