Revised proposals have been revealed for the next phase of the Kirkstall Forge development which is transforming the area of Leeds. The multi-million pound scheme has been submitted by CEG – with the new updated plans looking to increase the number of properties from 112 to 135.

CEG, who’re speaking at our Leeds Development Plans Conference whilst also being invited to the West Yorkshire Economic Growth Conference, have already gained full planning permission from Leeds City Council for the project, which was given last November, and they’re now looking to slightly increase the residential properties set to be built.

The redesign will see two apartment blocks being built in a more traditional style than originally placed, due to CEG being uncertain on ‘how the market would react’ to the initial designs outlines. The proposal submitted also includes a slight reduction in commercial space and alterations in apartment block heights from 4-6 storeys to 5-7 storeys.

Plans have already been approved for a central public square that will bring the two sides of the river together – whilst a covered extension of the public space will be in the centre of the square – housing a range of food and retail outlets.

The vision for the Kirkstall Forge region is to see it become a thriving new community area comprising of 1,050 homes, 300,000 sq ft of office space and 100,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and community space – which will see more than 10,000 people live, work and visit.

Join us to hear from CEG at the Leeds Development Plans Conference.
