  • Major regeneration of the town centre and riverfront
  • Upgrades to local transport links including a new train station
  • Up to 2,850 new homes
  • 1,000,000 sq ft creative complex – a media village including TV studios
  • Shops and restaurant space
  • Community facilities including a medical centre and a primary school
  • Potential to develop a higher education campus

The two firms are involved in our upcoming webinar programmes. Urban Catalyst are speaking on our Transforming the Thames Estuary Webinar, whilst Swan Housing are speaking on our Virtual East of England Development Conference.

The new images have been worked up by architect AHMM and drMM – and they highlight the new train station, the creative complex, and new homes.

It’s a further announcement this year which continues to see the development gain traction. Alongside the new images the Government has already announced £75m towards the scheme from the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) whilst the first phase was given the green light in January.

Sir Tim Laurence, Chairman of PCRL, said: “These latest images show the scale of our ambition for Purfleet-on-Thames, from transforming the riverfront to upgrading the train station and delivering thousands of homes. This is on top of a new school and integrated medical centre for local residents as well as a media village that will see the town emerge as a leading creative hub capable of supporting Britain’s booming film and TV industry.”
