Event Information:

This webinar will focus on the development activity in York and the wider city region – with the ambitious York Central project set to be a catalyst for economic growth.

York Central Partnership – a collaborative partnership between the City of York Council, Network Rail, Homes England and the Railway Museum – are working collaboratively to transform the city. The plans aim to grow York’s economy by 20%, deliver 2,500 new homes, create 6,500 jobs and connect the city to HS2 and the Northern Powerhouse.

We’ll hear from key players in the future of the project whilst looking at the challenges ahead, future projects and plans.

Speakers for this event include:

  • City of York Council – The York Central Partnership development is one of the largest city centre brownfield development sites in the UK; the 45 hectare site will see 2,500 homes built and will create up to 6,500 new jobs in the city. Cllr Aspden will discuss the wider beneficial impacts this scheme will bring which includes commercial space, well-paid jobs and sustainable communities.
  • National Railway Museum – The National Railway Museum’s vision 2025 is a £55 million transformation to modernise and unite the two parts of the museum site; the development will become the central part of the York Central Partnership scheme. Catherine will reveal more details about the scheme and how it will benefit the city of York.
  • Banks Group – Rob will take us through their Castle Hill housing development in Harrogate which will see 270 new homes and a new primary school built on a 12.7 hectare site. Rob will also give more details on The Banks Group’s plans to develop renewable energy projects in North Yorkshire.
